Meet John Alley, Senior Minister of the Peace Group of ministries, based in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. 'Peace' includes Peace Apostolic Community, Peace Christian Ministries Ltd, Peace Apostolic Ministries Ltd, Peace Institute Ltd, Central Queensland Christian College, and Peace Aviation Pty Ltd. John is an author, missionary, lecturer, international speaker, aviator, businessman, and company director. John's wife is Hazel. Married for 38 years, they are the parents of eight children, all of whom walk with God and are with them in the ministry and community of Peace. ![]() Over the last 13 years, John with his team has travelled extensively, and, with a clear mandate from the Lord for this work, has conducted conferences and visited churches in every State and Territory of Australia, as well as many other nations. These conferences have variously addressed the training of intercessors, the apostolic reformation of the church, spiritual maturity, and building appropriate relationships in the church. Twice each year he conducts the Australian School of Apostolic Ministry for the purpose of training Christian leaders to think and minister apostolically. The school is now to be conducted in Southeast Asia as well. ![]() John is an articulate teacher who loves to explain things so as to make them easy for other people to understand. God the Holy Spirit has taught him many things that help believers and churches solve problems and find freedom. He has a depth of experience in prayer and intercession, and fought and won battles in which he was enabled to stand by the grace of God. He has become an adept communicator of these graces, for the love of Christ and the sake of the Lord's body. John's BACKGROUND John was born in 1952, profoundly converted to Christ at Bethshan Holiness Mission, Wyee, N.S.W., in June, 1967, first preached of Christ a year later at the age of 16, and became the Sunday School Superintendent in the Salvation Army church in Canberra City, ACT, at the age of 17. He married Hazel in 1971 when they had both just turned 19. They entered training for ministry together at age 21, and a few weeks later, in April, 1974, at The Salvation Army Training College in Sydney, John was powerfully baptised with the Holy Spirit, and Hazel a few days later. John began to exercise a ministry of spiritual authority, seeing deliverances, breakthroughs in ministry, mighty healings, and a pattern of receiving insight and bringing revelatory teaching emerged. He commenced pastoring his first church in Narrabri, N.S.W., in January, 1976, when he was 23. In 1974, John was reading his Bible when an unusual experience took place. The Lord stood in the room and said: "I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the peoples. I make a covenant with you in accordance with the sure mercies of David," and gave him the words of Isaiah 55:4-5:"Behold, you shall call nations that you know not, and nations that knew you not shall run to you, because of the Lord your God..." (RSV) Two years later, now in Narrabri, this experience was repeated, and three years after that, in Cowra, N.S.W., John experienced a third time this identical visitation, and received again these words. For many years John did not fully understand the meaning or importance of these words, but did experience constantly the grace of that covenant. ![]() John and Hazel with a growing family were sent by The Salvation Army to work in Papua New Guinea, and spent 5 years living in Port Moresby with John regularly visiting many parts of that country. On behalf of the Salvation Army mission and social work, John worked with over 100 of the leading businessmen and politicians of PNG, established a national appeal, instituted planned giving programs in churches, and worked to strengthen the Salvation Army mission. He and Hazel are known and loved amongst people there to this day. Two more children were born to them whilst in P.N.G. Two years later, the Peace Baptist church of North Rockhampton asked John to become their Senior Pastor, and to "lead them into renewal." John was 35 when commencing this ministry in January 1988, and the following years were for them a wonderful journey of discovery as the Lord led them to understand and experience the biblical prophetic and apostolic gifts and graces. The church saw growth and large scale property development. There were many miracles of healing, with much devotion to the ministry of intercession, prayer warfare and worship, and miracles of providence. John began to travel internationally in 1991, with a growing understanding of the restoration of apostles and the apostolic nature of Christianity. He has ministered extensively throughout the world in over 30 nations, and the Lord has given him ongoing fruitful relationships with spiritual sons in many places. ![]() | ||||
