Equipping The Ministry

Buildings and Television Studios
The Lord has positioned the Peace ministry with two buildings immediately available to be developed and used by Peace Christian Television as recording studios, editing and distribution centres, management offices, and training centres.

One large building, the Peace Community Centre, is to have the public meeting/worship area converted to a television recording studio, and will be useful for meetings and preaching with a studio audience of up to 600 people. This property is debt-free, but requires the infrastructure development needed for the television project.

The Peace ministry has been led by the Lord to take a step of faith, and has now acquired a further property in the Rockhampton Central Business District. It is bank-financed, and needs renovation. It is strategically positioned, its value greater than the purchase price, and is a sound asset. The building is to be used for all the main functions of the television ministry, including administration, and all post-production including editing, graphic design, and distribution. This will be the communication centre for promoting the work, and for responding to the needs of those who enquire from all over the world in response to the message. Writers, producers, counselors, and gospel workers will all labour here for the effectiveness of the television ministry. A future web-based broadcasting channel will operate from this building, which will also house recording studios, including one accommodating a studio audience up to 120 people, and be fully equipped for conferences and ministry schools. There will be small recording sets, and facilities for staff training, administration and management, spiritual leadership, and team building.

Professional TV Production Equipment
A full range of professional stage, audio, and video equipment must be purchased- cameras, tripods, cables, sound, lighting, and ancillary equipment.

Editing and Post-Production Equipment
This requires, amongst other things, expensive video production workstations that combine extremely fast computers with dedicated hardware for high-quality digital production, hard drive arrays with content management systems for shared access across the editing team, and studio quality screens and speaker systems.

Audio Visual Equipment - Equipping The MinistryProfessional and Technical Staff
In establishing a great team with a right spirit, we look to the Lord and build with principles He has taught us. The staff required will have not only the professional training and exceptional skills needed for this task, but also the spiritual gifts, call, and heart motivation needed in those who are to serve Christ in Christian mission. They will need to be humble, submissive, teachable, and walk in grace. They must be able to be moulded together as part of an effective Christian mission team, and walk in the spirit of the truth that Christ has given us.

Staff salaries are a substantial part of the budget for this kind of mission, because to produce a one-hour TV program, at least 40 hours of editing and post-production work is required. Also needed are technicians and engineers who work with cameras, lighting, and audio. Professional staff, with volunteer team members will also travel for production purposes. The project begins with minimal personnel, but ultimately requires a large team.

Offices, Office Staff, and Office Equipment
A great work can only be as effective as its administration allows. Good management, financial management, planning and budgets, communication, teambuilding, and of course communicating with our supporters and our public everywhere, are essential. The purchase of furnishings and equipment, the ongoing costs of staff, the maintenance of electronic equipment, and especially, communicating with and responding to the many needs of those who respond to the broadcasts, are all necessary parts of this great project. This is effective evangelism, and service to the saints.

Distribution
In the end, a quality product can only be effective if it has an effective distribution to those who need it. Staff must work to facilitate the distribution of the message all over the world. There will be costs in travel, promotion, freight, and packaging. This is a critical part of the success of the program, and must have the right people working creatively to sow the good seed of this word.

Broadcasting
Broadcasting on as many forms of television as possible (public, Christian, cable, community, web, satellite) must be a part of our strategy. To purchase time on public broadcasters will require a large financial commitment, but must be a component of an effective strategy. There are parts of our society that will only be reached by meeting the costs of public broadcasting. This is a budgeted item, but will need to be regularly analysed and adjusted for optimum results.

Aviation Ministry - Equipping The MinistryTravel for Production at Churches and Conferences
Regular travel to produce good television is part of the vision. Whilst much programming will be developed at the home studios, there are many exceptional opportunities for creative television throughout the body of Christ. The Lord has many people who have an important witness, or word, or work, to share.

Production teams must travel, under the authority of spiritual leadership, to develop the variety of material needed. Of particular importance here is that Peace Australia has an aviation facility which maintains aircraft, and professional pilots are on the staff. 'Peace' has established an aviation capability specifically for mission purposes, believing the Lord required it for a long-term purpose. This now comes to the aid of television production. It would be very expensive to use commercial flights to constantly fly teams of people with lots of equipment all over a vast continent, but by using a combination of road travel and our own aircraft, these costs can be limited. Peace Aviation provides us with the ability to move paid employees, volunteers, and equipment in a minimal amount of time. Rather than spending three or four consecutive days on the road to travel even part-way across Australia, and then three or four days to return, the travel can be minimised to a half-day in each direction. Using our own commercial pilots and aircraft to facilitate the movement of production and ministry teams is a crucial and cost-effective part of the strategy. To produce great television will require an adequate travel budget.

Mobile Equipment
For quality production on the road, specialist equipment is needed. Mobile equipment comprising cameras, mixers, lighting, a quality sound system, portable stage equipment, and a suitable transport vehicle as well, is essential to quality out-of-studio production. This equipment is additional to that needed for studio production.

For every production event, a road crew will be sent in advance of the team members being flown. PCTV will use only a limited number of professional crew - just those specifically needed for professional light, sound, recording, and directing. Teams travelling in the ministry will include many volunteers who love to work for and support the ministry.
